3 cl Rye Whisky
3 cl Italian Vermouth
4 Dashes Brown Curaçao*
3 Dashes De Kuyper Anisette
3 Dashes Angostura® aromatic bitters
Fill a mixing glass half full of broken ice and pour in the ingredients. Stir well and strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.
Most likely Knudsen refers her to a local specialty from Curaçao, which is named The Genuine Curaçao Liqueur, which has been produced on the island since 1896 and comes in two brown varieties, coffee and chocolate (next to traditional products like triple sec, blue curaçao and green curaçao). Knudsen must have come across these products on of his many trips to the Caribbean while tending bar at cruise ships.
