2 cl De Kuyper Rum
4 cl Bols White Curaçao
1 cl Bols Grenadine
3 Dashes lemon juice, freshly squeezed
Pour rum, liqueur, grenadine and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker, filled with ice. Shake thoroughly and double-strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass. Add a small size rose for garnish, present and serve.
The 3rd edition of the National Cocktail Competition in the Netherlands were held on 27, 28 and 29 October in 1952, in Casino, Amsterdam. Aurelio Francisco Veeris, a bartender coming from Curaçao (and working at that time behind the bar of the Old Dutch Tavern, in Willemstad, Curaçao) took home the 2nd Prize with a concoction he had named Rosa di Mattina (Morning Rose) for the occasion.
