4 cl Bourbon
1 Bar spoon superfine sugar
1 Splash of water
Mint leaves, fresh (10-12)

  • Crush or muddle some mint leaves (10-12) in the bottom of a Mint Julep Cup, using the back of a bar spoon to crush the mint. Then fill the Mint Julep Cup with crushed or shave ice. Add a large measure of bourbon whiskey, a bar spoon of superfine sugar and a small splash of water.
    Stir until the cup frosts, add some more crushed ice and garnish with (sugared) mint sprigs. Serve Mint Juleps with a straw.
