Grace Patricia Kelly was an American film actress who became Princess of Monaco after she married Prince Rainier III in April 1956.
At the age of 26, Kelly retired from acting to marry Rainier, and she began her duties as Princess of Monaco. The couple had three children: Caroline, Albert, and Stéphanie. Kelly retained her link to America by her dual US and Monégasque citizenship. Princess Grace died at Monaco Hospital on September 14, 1982, succumbing to injuries sustained in a traffic accident the day before. At the time of her death, she was 52 years old.
In 1982 French bartender Damien Leroy won the French National Cocktail Competition with his gold medal scoring cocktail Grace of Monaco, Leroy’s personal tribute to Grace Kelly, the Princess of Monaco.
