6 cl Benton’s bacon fat washed Four Roses bourbon (recipe follows)
0,75 cl Grade B maple syrup
2 Dashes Angostura® aromatic bitters
Fat washed bourbon
Warm 4,5 cl bacon fat in a small pan over low heat. Stir for about 5 minutes, until the fat is melted. Combine the melted fat with 75 cl bourbon, stir, let it settle for 4 hours at room temperature, then place it (in a container) in the freezer for 2 hours. Remove solid fat from the surface of the bourbon and discard. Filter the bourbon through a thin light cotton cloth and store in the refrigerator up to 2 months.
- Orange, zest
Combine all ingredients except the garnish in an Old-Fashioned glass, filled with one large ice cube. Stir thoroughly, until chilled. Twist the orange zest over the cocktail and add to the mixture
