The Ann Sheridan Cocktail is listed in The Stork Club Bar Book (Julius Beebe, 1946) and was created and tributed for the famous actress (who was one of the many celebrity regulars) by Harry Kaye, the waiter captain of the Cub Room. The Stork Club was an upscale Manhattan club located in Midtown from the end of Prohibition to 1965. In its heydey, the club owned by ex-bootlegger Sherman Billingsley attracted clients like Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, and Ernest Hemingway. The Cub Room was the great VIP room at the Stork Club, where a head waiter who was known as "Saint Peter" determined who was allowed entry to the Cub Room. It was gossip columnist Walter Winchell (who wrote his columns and broadcast his radio programs from Table 50) who began to call it the Cub Room.
